Hey, y’all!  First off, I’d like to thank everyone for being so great and coming out to both Avo’s on Mondays and the Rio on Tuesdays and supporting our great local scene!  We’ve got good things in store for everyone, so keep yourselves tuned to The Rhythm Company for the latest. 

Okay, now down to business. 

Starting this Monday, the 1st of February, the JiveCats are teaching a four-week, progressive, level one Lindy Hop lesson at Avo’s!  This class will teach the Lindy Hop basic, turns, and transitions into and out of both Jocky and Tandem Charleston, and is a great start to improving your dancing.  We would like to offer more advanced classes in March and/or April, but in order to do those, we need you to brush up on your basics.  Classes will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 pm before the regular dance (8:00 to 10:30) at Avo’s every Monday of February (the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd) and costs $35 for the month, including entry to the dance.  You can drop-in to a class for $10, but we encourage you to attend the whole month.  The dance is still just $3 for non-lesson takers. 

Speaking of this Monday, great dj and friend of the scene, Adin, will be djing, so even if you’re not coming for the lesson, be sure to swing in for some great dancing! 

Every Tuesday this February we are continuing to offer our 30-minute Salsa lesson at 7:30 followed by great Latin dancing from 8:00 to 10:30.  If you haven’t been out for a while, come see us and all your Salsa friends this Tuesday! 

Now, some really big news…

Saturday April 10th we’re making a comeback at Club Tico!  The Jumpin’ JiveCats are presenting A Swing Fling and awesome Denver swing band Impromptu is truckin’ up north to join us at 8pm.  There will be great music, glorious dancing, and exciting door prizes, so put a big “X” on your calendar on April 10th and come on out!  Tickets are available for pre-sale for $10 and $12 at the door.
